Breed Pairing Racing Pigeons

Pairing up good breeders is a definitely a good thing to know how to do. Without knowing, you could keep producing the exact qualities that you do not want in a racing pigeon. And of course, you can produce exactly what you want if you know what you're doing.

You want to find extremely successful racing pigeons to start off with. Ones that have won many races, long and short distances. When you breed those two together, you have a very high chance of producing another successful pigeon. Of course this sometimes is easier said than done, nothing is perfect, so if a successful pigeon, now has a disease of some sort, you won't want to breed that pigeon. As an example that is. Some pigeons will have great speed, but no stamina. So they can't race any long distance races. So you will want to bring in a successful long distance racer whether they are the fastest or not. As long as they can race well for really long distances. That way you bring in genes for long distance racing, as well as having your original speed gene. Pairing your pigeons with each other will bring a mix of a good qualities, or make good qualities better, if you do it correctly.

The more you breed with successful and healthy pigeons, the stronger your loft will be. Just imagine having a good size loft, and all of them can win races. You will be near the top of your club, and winning tons of races, and probably lots of money too! Once you get to this point, you can really pin point the exact genes, and skills you want in your racing pigeons. You will be able to get calm and focused pigeons as an example. If you want to keep speed and strength in your loft, you can consider line breeding, which means you will be breeding directly related pigeons with each other. It is something that is looked down upon for us humans, but for pigeon racing, you can send you to the top if done correctly. Line breeding is something you will not want to do all the time, but doing it periodically to keep good genes within your loft is a great idea.

This is why learning about breeding racing pigeons is so important. You should have a goal of what your outcome should be in your loft, whether if they specialize in long or short distances, or both. What skills, genes you want to have. Since the sport of pigeon racing is growing, there is more competition, so it is best to be prepared! So go and do your due diligence and learn about stock selection and breeder selection as well. It is important to learn about both of those, as well as about the different types of breeding. They all play a part in producing a champion racing pigeon loft, that will make you lots of money, prizes, trophies and most important, success!

Good luck!

Portable Bird Air Purifier - 5 Features That It Needs To Have

Birds don't stay still so an air purifier designed with them in mind should be just as portable when the need arises. Here are 5 features a cleaner needs to have that will make it the ultimate in portability.

Self-Contained - A cleaner that can be easily moved across the room, through the house or across the country needs to contain everything inside that it needs rather having to be accompanied by various filters, sprays, chargers, cleaners and other paraphernalia.

Frequent filter changes and other maintenance requirements will dictate that a lot of other stuff will need to follow you and the cleaner wherever you go. It's no fun to have a high maintenance cleaner when all you want to do is spend time with your bird.

Opt for a cleaner that has a long filter life and needs very little in terms of maintenance other than occasional vacuuming of the outside. This means your cleaner is easily moved and literally doesn't have a lot of baggage that needs to come with it.

Sturdy Casters - Whoever invented wheels did us all a huge favor, and putting them on an air cleaner is nothing short of genius. Rather than lifting or having to have someone to lift it for you, casters that are sturdy can roll across all types of flooring with the push of a finger. Pushing beats lifting every time.

Common Plug Type - How often have you bought an appliance only to find that the plug type is not compatible with the outlets where you want to use it? A sturdy yet convention to prong plug assures you that you will be able to plug your unit in anywhere. And isn't it a relief to know that your birds will always be able to enjoy clean air because filtration is always as close as the nearest outlet.

Flexible Placement - Where your unit needs to be placed in order to function effectively is a feature that should be considered very carefully. A purifier should be able to be placed out of the way and not call attention to it by having to be placed in the middle of a room.

A unit that can pull air from all sides is the feature that indicates flexibility in placement. Units that have 360 degree intake need only about 6 inches of clearance to allow the air to be pulled in, slowly filtered and returned to the room. This allows you to place your unit high or low, or even in a corner and still work effectively without causing a draft for you or your birds.

Sturdy Construction - A well built unit is more likely to survive moves that one that is daintily constructed. A cleaner made of steel with a powder - coat finish in a variety of designer colors is similar to an iron hand in a velvet glove - pretty on the outside but tough inside.

These 5 features are the best indicators of how portable a bird air cleaner really is. And the more portable a unit is, the more control you can provide for you and your birds.

Chicken Tractors Plans - Wise Investments for Chicken-Keepers Both Novice and Expert

To the hobby farmer, taking care of animals is not just for profit, but also for emotional gain. Many a hobby farmer continues this activity because of the enjoyment that it gives him or her to see animals well taken cared of under their wing. One of the main livestock involved in such activities is the chicken, an animal that is not only fairly easy to maintain but can also produce a valuable product, in the form of eggs.

In light of this, both the amateur and professional farmer must put effort into constructing a safe shelter for their chickens. Although the materials and time needed to make such an endeavor may prove rigorous, he or she can think of it as an investment that will do more good than harm to the business or hobby down the line. For people wishing to start a chicken-keeping hobby without having to spend too much on lumber and tools, a fine set of chicken tractor plans can be the perfect option.

The popularity of the chicken tractor plans can be summarized in three main elements: cost, effort and convenience. A common tractor costs less to build than the conventional chicken coop, as it imposes a minimum on the items needed. In particular, lumber count is significantly decreased, as the floor of the chicken tractor does not require covering of any kind.

Effort is also greatly cut down when following the tractor plans - no intermediate or advanced training in carpentry is required - all that's needed is the will to complete a job and a wholesome concern for the shelter of one's chickens. The size of the chicken coop makes for less need to go back and forth, collecting plywood and hacking off pieces to complete the shelter.

Lastly, convenience comes in a threefold advantage for the typical chicken tractor. For one, the lack of aforementioned floor covering enables chickens to directly obtain food from healthy soil and grass. For another, owners can make use of the tractor to isolate a specific area that requires cutting of grass.

Once the chickens have cut down the height of the grass, one can simply move the tractor to another area. This brings forth the final convenience of the chicken tractor: its lightweight build can allow farm owners to lift the tractor and move it to another part of the farm or yard with ease. These advantages are what make chicken tractor plans a definite favorite among chicken farmers and hobbyists from all around.

How To Properly Suit Up A Finch's Cage

Finches make wonderful pets. They tend to be cheerful, interesting and lively companions. They are beautiful birds with a happy voice. They are easy to care for and relatively easy to keep healthy. They do not require the constant social interaction that some birds, like parrots, require. For birds to be happy in our homes, we need to give them an appropriate home of their own. They need to have a properly sized and equipped finch cage.

Cage Size: Finch cages need to be sized large enough for your birds to be able to take small flights. It should be at least 30 in length, and 20" in height or more. Finches are active birds, and need to get some exercise by flying around a little, so it is recommended that your finch cage provide enough room for that. The bars on the cage need to be close together, as finches are small birds. You don't want them to escape through the bars, or be injured getting stuck trying to escape. Many owners have a second smaller cage to use when cleaning out the main cage.

Food and Furniture: There are a few items you will need to have in your finch cages to keep your bird healthy and happy. Food and water should be provided in separate finch feeders at all times. It is good to have some extra dishes that can be put periodically for things like treats or grit. You can also put a small dish of fresh water for your finches to bathe in a few times a week. Finches also like things like a small box to nest and sleep in and a perch to rest on. Perches can be made of wood or concrete, and it is good to have varying sizes to exercise their feet. Cement perches are good to help keep their nails trimmed, but can be hard on their feet if used exclusively. Some popular wood types for perches are tree branches from trees like elm, maple, poplar, or cherry. In the bottom of the cage, you should put some paper, sprinkled with grit, or you can use a commercially available grit paper. There is also an optional product called a bird protector disk, which attaches to side of the cage to prevent mites.

Toys: Another important item in your finch cage is to have some toys in the cage for your birds to play with. Finches like shiny objects, bells, or plastic rings for entertainment. Retail pet stores also have other items like ladders, mirrors, swings, and beads. You can put a couple of toys at a time, and switch them out often to provide variety and keep things interesting for the bird.

Cleaning: Your finch cage should be cleaned at least once a week. Use hot soapy water to thoroughly clean the cage and all accessories, then make sure to rinse and dry. Lining the bottom of the cage with newspapers, paper bags or paper towels helps make the job of cleaning the cage easier. I personally prefer newspapers.

Bird Dust Air Cleaner - 5 Features To Have In An Air Purifier For Birds

Bird dust for some types of birds is a normal part of their growth and development. African Greys, Cockatoos, and Cockatiels are all known as powder down parrots. And if you love and own one, you are all too familiar with the white powder that can cover everything in sight.

Using an air purifier is one of the most effective ways to keep these fine particulates under control, and here are 5 features the cleaner should have.

24 Hour Cleaning Capability - White wing dust is what helps keep powder parrots' wings healthy and beautiful. And so these particles will be a fact of life for as long as you have your pet. Bird dust is produce continually and so to be effective a cleaner must be able to take it out as continually as it is produced.

This keeps your pet's notoriously tiny air passages clearer. And clear airways can increase their quality of life and their life span. As for humans, constantly breathing this dust can cause nodes in the lungs, bring on and/or exacerbate allergies, asthma, and other chronic respiratory conditions.

Low, Medium, And High Speeds - Some days there are going to be more particles in the air than other days. When there are more particles in the air, an air purifier should be able to take out more at a faster rate. This means particles spends less time in the air and that drastically reduces the amount you and your bird are forced to inhale.

Fresh Air As The Only Result - An effective cleaner should be able to send 250 cubic feet of fresh clean air into your room every 60 seconds. This should be without any amount of ozone or ionized particles.

The debate continues about if and how much ozone is harmful; and whether ionized particles do more harm than good. But all are in agreement that there is no down side to fresh, clean air. So selecting a unit that only produces clean air is the healthiest solution.

HEPA Filter - HEPA is a shortened version of high efficiency particle arresting. This type of filter by definition must be able to remove 99.97 of airborne particles that are.3 microns or larger.

That includes not only bird dust but more normal household pollutants such as dust, dust mites, mold and mildew spores, bacteria, and viruses. The benefit to you and your bird is that for every 100,00 airborne particulates this type of technology will remove all but 3 particles down to.3 microns in size with a micron being defined as one millionth of a meter. This type of filter is so effective that hospitals use it to insure clean air.

Numerous Other Particle Filters - As efficient as a HEPA is, having it as the only filter would mean that it would fill unnecessarily quickly with big particles that could be trapped by other types of filters.

Your cleaner should have at least 2 pre-filters that eliminate the big particles before they clog the HEPA. This will eliminate large and medium size particles that can be seen without magnification.

Carbon cloth is another filter that the unit should have particularly with birds. Since every animal has a unique smell, being able to eliminate odors and other gaseous pollutants is a huge advantage towards keeping your bird safe. And because the nature of this filter is a cloth, it gives you a 4th filter for particle removal.

A cleaner with these features will go a long way towards keeping you and your bird happy and healthy for many years to come.

Zebra Finches Make Wonderful Pets

Zebra Finches have been one of the most popular cage birds for over one hundred years. When we bring them into our homes, they quickly become a treasured member of the family; stealing our hearts with their quirky personalities, beautiful colors and patterns, vibrant singing and their endless activity. They are also one of the easiest pet birds to care for and they are rather inexpensive. They make a cheery addition to any home.

Zebra Finches are so popular you can easily find them at your local pet store or from local breeders. When well cared for, these birds will maintain their happy quirky personalities through their lifespan of about seven to ten years with continuous song and activity.

Never buy a single Zebra Finch, always plan to buy at least two birds. Finch birds need to be socially active with other finches, preferably finches of the same species. Also be sure to purchase a cage large enough for your birds to reach full flight.

One of the wonderful things about these birds is the many different patterns and colors they can be found in. Usually, the male Zebra Finch will have gray wings and upper body with a white belly. Their legs and beaks are reddish-orange in color along with cheek patches of the same color on each side of its head. There are also teardrop markings under the eye that can be fawn, brown or tan. The flanks or sides which are located just below the wings of the male Zebra Finches are either chestnut colored or orange with white dots. Lastly, the male's chest is white and black striped like a zebra, which is how these birds got their name.

The female Zebra Finches are usually white in the belly with a gray upper body and wings. Their beaks and legs are a lighter color than the males, and the females do not have stipes. For the females, the teardrop mark right under the eye is black. Zebra Finches can be found in many varieties such as: Black Cheek, Black or Orange Breasted, Black, Fawn, Chestnut Flanked White and Pied.

In the wild Zebra Finches live in dry areas and consume mostly grass seeds. While seeds are still the heart of their diet even in captivity, you should also supply your finches with healthy foods from your kitchen.

Your birds will have different likes and dislikes, so you may have to experiment a bit to find out what they prefer. Offer your birds a variety of food items like chopped mixed vegetables, mashed boiled egg, sprouts, spinach, lettuce and bread crumbs. Be sure to keep the moist foods in separate dishes than the dry foods. Also do not offer your birds extreme items like peppers or cabbage.

Never leave moist foods in the cage with your finches for more than twenty-four hours. Remove any uneaten food to prevent spoilage and be sure to clean their dishes before providing them with a new dish of fresh food. Your finches need food and fresh water every day, so be sure to always keep their seed bowl full.

Very Sociable Bengalese Finches

Centuries ago Japanese breeders bred the Asian Striated with the Sharptail Manakin and created this lovely breed. Bengalese finches are beautiful and truly unique because they are the only breed of finch to be completely man-made.

They have a lovely temperament making them one of the most popular breeds. They are only 11-12cm in length but need a lot space to fly about. Remember this when building an aviary or purchasing a cage.

Give them a dish about one inch high with about half an inch of water in it for bathing. Or you could have a small bath house attached to the outside which they can use whenever they like.

Bengalese finches come in pure white, fawn and white or chocolate and white. There are also crested forms that have been developed over many years that have ended up being tri-coloured.

One of the main causes of illness in finches is an unhealthy diet, so make sure they have a regular supply of fresh food and water.

They will eat parakeet seed mix or canary seeds. They will also eat other bird seed mixes. You can make this at home or pick up ready-made seed mix at your local pet store.

Add seed mix to some honey with a bits of apple as a treat. They also eat chickweed, spinach or other green foods.

Provide the Bengalese finches with cuttlebone it contains lime which helps digestion and calcium to keep their beaks strong. Calcium is also found in oyster shells or crushed eggshells, eggshells will help prevent egg binding during fertilization.

Grit with charcoals is also good for their digestion it contains trace elements and minerals. Sprinkle this on the cage floor or put it in a cup.

The 'Society finch' is the American name for Bengalese finches. The name fits them perfectly, they are very busy and entertaining but don't let this get in the way of the other breeds who might be trying to breed.

A lot of finches will attempt to get as many into a single finch nest as possible and won't stop until it is literally impossible for them to fit anymore in. This will be bad for the un-hatched chicks because too many eggs will not be taken care of. Monitor how many are in one nest box.

Also, as this is purely a domestic breed it means you will have to take-over the job of feeding, adults will do it but it won't be good enough. Remember to give them plenty of protein and calcium.

One of the main jobs is nail trimming. Make sure however that you don't cut into its vain because it will probably bleed to death. You can purchase powder to stop bleeding and also nail trimmers from most retailers.

Bengalese finches got the name 'Society finch' due to their very social nature. They are very domestic due to them being the only breed not from the wild, they are also non-aggressive but with a lot of energy and hardiness, making them a very popular breed.

Breeding Finches

Choosing your finches

It was really a hard choice for me to choose a finch type to keep and breed. There are so many colors and varieties that I just wanted to have them all. This is not such a problem until it comes to breeding. It is a natural instinct for a pair of finches to want to breed. Finches like to have the aviary all to them selves at breeding time and many different types just don't breed well together.

Some types are easier to breed than others and I would suggest starting out with one of these types although it is important to choose a type that interests you. As long as you make a genuine effort to research the habits, dietary and nesting requirements of these birds before you purchase them then you have a chance of success.

The Breeding Aviary

The conditions in the cage or aviary will determine the success you are going to have in breeding. If your finches are not comfortable in their environment they will not breed. If they are suffering stress from threats such as predators or even other species sharing their space then you will have problems with breeding these birds.

The first consideration for the aviary is having a warm and dry area for your birds to breed in. If the aviary is full of drafts and wet your birds may not feel that this is a place they would like to breed. The second most important aspect of the aviary is having the space completely vermin proof. This may mean having a concrete footing around the perimeter of the aviary and making sure that there are no cracks that can make accessing the aviary possible by snakes, rats or even mice. If your birds sense any potential threat or danger they may not breed, or you may wake up one morning to find your birds have been eaten or killed.

Managing mixed aviaries for breeding

If you are going to try a mixed selection of finches try to pick species that are compatible and not overly intrusive or aggressive. You will have more success with breeding if you try not to over stock the aviary this will reduce competition for food nesting sites and any nesting materials that are around the aviary. If you are starting out with Zebra Finches or Society Finches as I suggest then you would be better to either stick with these breeds. Zebra and Society finches can be quite intrusive and prevent successful breeding of other more private finch birds. If you would like to try some other varieties it may be better for you to house them in a separate aviary.

I would suggest not starting out with too many pairs either as often they prefer to have the aviary to themselves. It seems no matter how big the aviary each pair is going to want the aviary to themselves. If you have a large aviary you could divide the aviary into sections with dividing walls separating the pairs for breeding and take down the walls at other times of the year. Different varieties will occupy different spaces in the aviary for breeding; some finch types like to occupy high positions for nesting while other like to have nests quite low to the ground so do your research and pick compatible pairs. By choosing pairs that have different requirements you may find they are more compatible for mixed breeding.

Getting your birds in peak condition for breeding

Normally you will feed your birds a dry seed mix that you can obtain from a pet store with fine grit, cuttlefish bone and fresh water, this is going to be sufficient for keeping finches throughout the year but this is not going to be sufficient for breeding most species. A natural diet full of live foods which include insects and worm as well as green seeds will need to be supplied daily to achieve optimum results. This is a more natural diet for a breeding pair of finches. These live foods can be collected from around your home or you might find them out even on the side of the road just make sure that if you are collecting grass seed that it has not been sprayed with herbicides. Finches love termites if you can get hold of some, or you may even be able to start up your own worm farm, this is also a great way to getting rid of the kitchen scraps.

Breeding Quality Finches

No matter which species you choose to breed, strive for quality. I doesn't matter if you choose the most common species to breed there are standard colors, and then there are color variations in each species that are very sort after by Aviculturists and that will be very valuable to you. Look for birds that exhibit good colors and size, or rare qualities that may be sort after in the community. It is important that you take the time to source quality birds to start breeding with right from the onset even if it means paying a little more. After breeding these pairs you may find you have to get rid of the birds that are not of a high standard, these you could sell as pets or you may even need to cull some in order to keep a high standard of breeding stock.

Bird Air Filter - 4 Reasons It Could Help Your Bird Live Longer

We all want our pet bird to live as long and happy a life as possible. Filtering the air continuously is one of the best ways to insure a long life. Here are 4 reasons why an air cleaner can make such a huge difference.

Removes Bacteria and Viruses - There are many bacteria and viruses that are airborne just with people in the house. Having birds in the house means the potential for additional germs that typically attack birds. Dried feces can also attract bacteria that attach to dried feces that can go airborne and affect both humans and birds.

Since the usual method of operation for germs is to attach to larger particles to move from one host to another, most of these contagions can be trapped and removed with larger airborne particulates.

Eliminates Particles - Birds anywhere generate lots of particles. In captivity are constantly generating dander (dead skin flakes), dust, and feathers with their usual daily activities and unless you filter the air, there is no way out for these pollutants.

Add the bird-related pollutants to the usual household particles such as household dust, dust mites, mold and mildew spores, hair and dander from other pets and the air can become unhealthy pretty quickly.

Birds have incredibly effective respiratory systems, but there air passages are tiny and become easily clogged when they are forced to breathe air that is thick with particles.

Clogged airways are usually the first step towards disease and infection. And because they instinctively hide signs of illness, it is often impossible to reverse the illness by the time your pet shows symptoms.

Removes Harmful Gases - Years ago miners used canaries in the mines in order to have a sign of when air quality was becoming dangerous to breathe. When the canaries died, they knew it was time to leave the mines to avoid suffocation and death.

As terrible as this practice was, it clearly shows how sensitive birds are to gases and odors. It also shows how toxic these gases can be to our avian friends long before it does any noticeable harm to humans.

Using a purifier that can remove gases, odors and chemicals can safeguard your bird's health long before you are aware there is a problem.

Keeps Its Owner Healthy - If you already have respiratory issues such as allergies and asthma, continuously clearing the air of pollutants, both normal and bird-related, will keep symptoms and flare-ups to a minimum. And a healthy owner is better able to raise a healthy bird.

Important Tips to Keeping Gouldian Finches

The Gouldian Finch is a variety of finch that is native to the Australian tropics. While it is endangered in its native region, and Australia has banned the export of native animals since the 1960's, there are still plenty of them available in the pet market.

Color: Gouldian Finches are considered one of the most colorful birds in the world. These brilliantly colored finches can have many different color variations. Their heads can be red, orange or grey. Their backs are blue or green, and their undersides can be white, yellow or purple. There are three naturally occurring color varieties of Gouldian Finches. There is the yellow headed (Poephila armitiana), the black headed (Poephila gouldiae), and the red-headed (Poephila mirabilis). While these are the three color varieties that are commonly recognized there are many other color combinations occurring amongst the species, which are derived from these original colorations including yellow and blue bodied mutations. The male is much more brilliantly colored than the female. The males also have a much longer center tail feather than that of the female.

Care: While Zebra Finches and Society Finches are very hardy breeds, and are very easy to care for and breed, the Gouldian Finches require much more quiet and stability in their lives. Novice bird owners with little or no experience with finches are not recommended to start with Gouldian Finches. Like some other types of finches, these finches do not like to be held or pet. If you want a bird that can be finger tamed easily, you should probably stay away from Gouldian Finches. Finches are social birds and should be kept in pairs. These finches can be easily disrupted from changes in their habitat, or by moving their cage. Frequent stress on these birds can lead to weakening of their immune system, compromising their resistance to certain diseases.

Cages:Gouldian Finches are very active birds. They require the largest flying area of any of the other finch species. While they only measure five to five and a half inches tall, they require a flying space of at least 20". Gouldian Finch cages can be made of either wood or metal, but preferably not brass, as the brass can be toxic to them. Keep in mind that many cages that look like brass, are not actually made of brass. The openings in the bars should never be more than about one half-inch, to avoid injury or escape.

Singing Gouldian Finches have a unique personality, a bouncy energy, and provide a beautiful background sound to their environment. While they have a lovely soft chirp, not all can sing. It is usually the male birds that sing, and some can sing better than others. Although Gouldian Finches require more care than some of the other finch varieties, the brilliant colorations and pleasant personalities can make the extra care worth while.

Parrot Sounds a La Einstein

Perhaps you know that parrot sounds can even imitate the human voice. But did you know that a parrot named Einstein, one of Animal Planet's stars, could "speak" at least 1000 English words? Listening to and interacting with parrots is one of the things that make them such charming pets. Einstein could make sentences, relate sounds to objects and could even answer simple questions. He was so good that his trainers even believed he could actually carry on a conversation.

Stephanie White, his main trainer, no doubt spent hours teaching Einstein, the super-intelligent bird. He was so good he could boogie, given the right beat, and believe it or not, he could yawn at appropriate times. But, you probably know that even the tiniest parakeet can imitate the human voice, too. Not to mention other kinds of sounds, like the hum of appliances, televisions, dripping water, and even a train toot or whistle. Einstein, in fact, could imitate space ship noises, including laser sounds. He knew the difference between "oink-oink," the words for the noise a pig makes and the actual snorting of a pig.

There is always a great danger from the public becoming too charmed with animals like Einstein, though. Not every parrot, not even the smartest, the African Gray, can do what he did, so wanting a parrot just like Einstein can lead to great disappointment. Unfortunately, this often leads to neglect of the poor parrot when the owner doesn't get what he was expecting.

Having a pet parrot is like caring for a three-year old child. They need special diets and an unsuspecting new pet owner, who might not have done the homework necessary for raising this exotic pet, could easily poison the bird by giving it chocolate, coffee, or even innocent-looking apple seeds, which all contain cyanide. Yes, among a parrot's favorite foods is a wide range of fruits and vegetables, but every owner should know which particular ones are toxic.

Another danger to parrots is that many, including the African Grey, are on the list of the Convention on CITES endangered species list. Prospective bird owners should try to purchase through legitimate breeders who hand raise their birds with great care. Buyers of birds at pet stores could easily be bluffed, since the information on the background of the birds is not so readily available.

No matter how impressed you are with parrot sounds, make sure you have reasonable expectations and know what you are getting.

Make Money With Your Blog Through Affiliate Marketing

Since blogging has become popular, many different ways have been developed to earn money with your blog. Adding a side venture into affiliate marketing is just one of these ways, but it can add a large amount of income to your blog quite quickly. If done incorrectly, it can unfortunately lose your opportunity to earn money with the blog. Read on to learn how to successfully integrate affiliate marketing into your blog.

First off you need to ensure that your blog is ready for your affiliate links. You will need to organize your blog to maximize the impact of these ads. Check with your host site. Many of these offer free themes that are designed to maximize ad click-trough's that you can easily edit to suit your blog. If you don't want to start from scratch, you can always modify the theme you are already using. Use these free themes as a guideline to make edits to your blog's current theme to get it ready for the ads.

Try and contain your excitement when you first get started on this new opportunity. You want to try and promote too many different companies and products right away. You will maximize your earnings by focusing on just a few great products. Start by casting a wide net for products that are within your topic. Once that is done, research and test until you narrow down the field to just a select few. Choose the right products for your readers and enjoy the money that comes flowing in.

In the blog format, personal reviews are going to be extremely important to the success of your product. Blogging is all about establishing good relationships with your readers, so you can use that relationship to help or hurt your overall business. Trying too hard to sell these products, especially those of low quality, can seriously hurt your readership. On the other hand, recommending great products to your readers can actually help to build your total brand and endear yourself with your readers. By informing your readers of what you personally found good or bad about a product, you will help them make the right decision and increase their happiness.

Limit yourself to a solid review of your product and then only mention it when it is relevant to the conversation. You will lose readers if you start selling products instead of providing useful and entertaining information. If you lose sight of the purpose of your blog you will lose your readers as well. This is the biggest mistake that bloggers make when they first venture into affiliate marketing. By quietly promoting products when appropriate, you can keep your blog's format informational, as well as selling one or more products.

Keeping these things in mind will help you monetize your blog without losing readers. While making money is your end goal, you need to make sure it is done correctly. You now have two job titles, blogger and affiliate marketer, so you will need to remain up-to-date in both fields. Each job will complement each other and help you achieve overall success.

Is An All Knowing God Going to Be Replaced By Facebook or the Next Generation of Social Networks?

What do you tell your very young kids as it nears the holidays; "be good or Santa will not bring you any toys," and it works well enough for a while until which times they call you on it, and then the cat is out of the bad and that little child management technique is gone forever, oh well. In society, for as long as there has been a written record various leaders have used religion to contain bad behavior and promote stability in the village, region, country, nation or continent.

It's worked well, but for some reason without constant bombardment - hourly, daily, or weekly rituals - well good human behavior falls off the wagon. So, what's next you ask, how can we solve this problems? Well, unfortunately humans and human science is getting much better and so the storyline just doesn't seem to resonate, as the average IQ climbs. Folks are not so easily fooled anymore you see. Does that mean some societies will fall to chaos, crime, and near anarchy? Well, there is more to it than that, but there needs to be a substitute since humans are a problematic species to begin with.

Integrity is what you do when no one is watching, and if you think a "god" or "gods" are watching then you tend to not want to rock the boat for "fear of loss" not getting into heaven for instance, taking an example from Christianity of course, or worse, going to hell - yes, that's a hot place, much more dire than even the worst Global Warming Alarmist predictions I'd say. However, what if the all-knowing social online networks are ever present, and since everyone is posting all sorts of stuff, and they have mobile devices they are bound to post you doing something you shouldn't - so you don't.

In other words, Santa Clause and God are now replaced by Facebook or after it comes crashing down as the other former leaders in that space have, the next generation of social networks will take the field. The new social networks, Internet, and Smart Grid together with all the Big Data exploits "knows when you've been sleeping, knows when you are awake, knows if you've been good or bad," I hope you are getting my point here for goodness sake. So, I ask, is Facebook becoming your new god?

It doesn't have to be this way, you can opt-out. It's your choice, "this is your mission if you choose to accept it," and that's all I am trying to say here. Please consider all this and think on it.
